Next up

Almost as anticipated as the race itself for some, the regatta dance was held last night. It was a great night, with all the clubs coming together, and it looked like everyone had a great time! With the regatta over, everyone is talking a few days off to recharge the rowing batteries. 

Next up. the gig season. Some fantastic days out around west cork and kerry are ahead.

July and August 

Loughitaine, Kenamare, Ahakista, Castletownbere, Dowras, some coastal regattas, and who knows what else!

KILLARNEY REGATTA 2009

5th July 2009!

 

It was a great day for all, and congratulations to all crews, who put on a great show for everyone! Killarney Regatta was very successful for the valley, with two 1st places! Thanks to all our coxes, and the organisers for making it happen too.

Juvenile Ladies Sixes: There were many boats in this race including: Muckross A+B+C, Fossa, St. Brendan’s, Workmens, and of course Flesk Valley A+B. The A’s rowed very well and secured a respectable 3rd place….great going girls! and the b’s came flying in behind them!

Junior Ladies Sixes: Again many showed up for this race, there were Muckross A+B, Workmens, St. Brendan’s, Fossa, and again of course Flesk Valley A+B! It was a tough race but the women managed to secure 4th and with there 2nd crew not far behind!

 

 

Junior Sixes: Outstanding race! There were 5 boats in thisrace, and it looked to be a tough race. But Flesk Valley bombed past every crew leaving them for dust!

there was a huge margin of a difference between 1st and 2nd place …Huge!

Killarney Regatta tomorrow…

The training is over and now everyone is getting ready for the races tomorrow!

Training is well under the way down at the valley shore. welcome to all our new members!! GYM is taking place every saturday at the AURA Gym for anybody within the club who is interested! 12:00 teen fitness classes are taking place at a very resonable €5.5o including use of the gym afterwards for as long as needed.

Crews are indeed counting down to the Killarney Regatta with everything go!!  Training as normal on sunday mornings at 11.00am, new members are always welcome.

Membership is now due at €20 (€10 euro for the Killarney Reagtta Club) and can be paid at training sunday mornings.

Congratulations To All The Valley Crews, Who Took Part In The Regatta!

Congratulations to the juvenile ladies, who had an excelent start, and came 4th!

They had a great first half and just fell short of 3rd place!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also a congratulations is deserved to the juvenile sixes for there respectable 3rd place!!                                                                            

 

They had an okey start but in the 2nd half of the race took off and came third!

 

 

Also the Junior Ladies sixes came 2nd!

Clean up of the lake shore

The valley had a very sucessful clean up with a huge turnout of all members coming out to help!  thank you to everyone because now the valley shore is looking more beautiful than ever!
